The Crochet Poncho Dress

The Crochet Poncho Dress by Wilmmade is circular yoke, beginner-friendly and best of all, free! We’ve recommended this pattern before, but it’s so good that we have to recommend it again. It’s on-trend, easy to make, and one of the most fun summer dress crochet patterns out there. You might be able to knock this out in a weekend. Galatea from Urth Yarns is a bulky cotton yarn that would be ideal for this pattern.

Model is wearing a blue crochet dress with a red waistband. She is standing in a natural setting, but the background looks like late autumn or winter as there is no green or leaves on the trees.

The Aviva Dress

The Aviva Dress crochet summer dress pattern actually gives you two patterns in one. It has plans for a fun and flirty dress and a fluttery-sleeved top. Alanna Miall has designed a made-to-measure dress that you can make to precisely fit you or whoever you are making it for. If you’ve never made something to your own measurements, this is a great pattern to begin with. It has photos, stitch graphs and detailed steps that will hold your hand as you make this beautiful pattern. The soft crispness of EYB Bel Viso yarn will be a perfect fit for this project.

Rainbow of Dreams Dress

Do you hate sewing? Then you might love the Rainbow of Dreams crochet dress pattern, because there’s no sewing involved. You will work up the entire dress in one piece. Designer Anastasia R. Smith has designed the measurements around your bust measurement, and the pattern sizes range from a 71cm (28 inch) to 157.5cm (62 inch) bust. This dress has lots of delightful texture and two options for the straps. It can even be crocheted as a peplum top. The pattern has lots of photos in order to help you make it more easily. This would look and feel great in Wool and the Gang’s Buddy Hemp yarn.

Baby Doll Dress

Longing for a lacy, circular yoke dress that whispers romance? Gala Zarubina’s Baby Doll dress is possibly the most romantic of the summer dress crochet patterns on our list. The stitching is intricate with a lot of open work; you will need to know how to read schematics in order to make this. But if you can, the results will be gorgeous! The pattern has two different sleeve options, depending on what look you like. Anzula Wash My Lace would be a lovely yarn to work with on this pattern, because it is a lightweight superwash merino designed to keep stitches looking crisp and well-defined.

Lovely Little Lace Dress

The Lovely Little Lace Dress by Stephanie Erin is a crochet summer dress pattern that lives up to its description. Erin has designed this to fit literally every body; input your measurements into the custom spreadsheet to get the specific stitches for your fit! There are nine specific sizes designed for a 76cm (36 inch) to 157.5cm (62 inch) bust, but the unique nature of the pattern offers even more flexibility. This dress also gives you wings, in the form of two lacy cap sleeves that you will stitch on to finish the dress. Because of its cotton blend, Zealana Kiwi Fingering would be a beautiful yarn to use with this pattern.

Chantilly Lace

If you want to make a child’s sundress for summer, the Chantilly Lace Sundress by Mon Petit Violon might be the one. It is both pretty and comfortable. It has sizing from newborns up to 10 years old. It also has a very clearly written pattern, so if you are somewhat new to crochet and improving your skills, this pattern might be a great one for you to make. Wool and the Gang’s Buddy Hemp would be a great yarn for this, because it’s soft but also sturdy.

The Tern Tunic Dress. Model is wearing a blue dress and standing in the woods.

The Tern Tunic Dress

Get you a summer crochet dress pattern that can do it all! The Tern Tunic Dress is a dress, a tunic or a peplum top, depending on how you decide to wear it and where you stop crocheting the skirt. And that’s not the only awesome thing about this pattern. It is fully size inclusive, and we mean fully. The pattern is based on measurements, and no matter what the measurements are, it can be customized for them. It has suggested measurements for small, medium and large. But the instructions show you how to go beyond that, in either direction.

Reviewers were delighted at how clearly this pattern is written. You will need to know chain, foundation single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and crossed double crochet to make this, or be ready to learn the stitches you don’t know. If you’re looking for a nice yarn to make this pattern with, Shiny Happy Cotton by Wool and the Gang has a gorgeous drape and is very crochet friendly.
