Have you heard of World Wide Knit in Public Day (known as WWKIP Day)? Well, it is exactly what it says it is! A global movement to celebrate and promote knitting by doing it out in public, and to help knitters find like-minded folk to make friends with. For many of us, this is no different to any of the other times we knit in public, but for some folk, it might be the first time you have gone out looking for other knitters to join. We know knitting can be solitary, so we thought we would host a meet-up and hope to meet some of the wonderful knitters in our community!
WWKIP Day is held on the second Saturday of June every year. If you are in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand, we would love for you to join us for a brunchy knitting morning! Both Ruth and Joy will be at Preservatorium Cafe from 10 am for scones, tea, and knitting. Or maybe bacon and eggs, coffee, and knitting – the food options are endless but the knitting is definite!
If you would like to join us, you can just turn up, but we would love it if you sent us an email to RSVP so we can make sure we have enough tables reserved!
Please note, this replaces our usual first-Saturday-of-the-month knitting and crochet catch up!
