Zealana | Silver Fern Scarf Kit

This scarf has a unique and fun texture that is just a tiny bit challenging, but still simple enough for good tv knitting. Made in Zealana Kauri Fingering, a luscious possum, silk and merino blend that is soft and luxurious. 

This scarf is named for Aotearoa New Zealand’s iconic silver fern, or ponga, a beautiful tree fern with silvery white undersides, found throughout much of the country. These trees can tower up to 10 metres tall, and looking up at the white canopy when in New Zealand bush is a delight. The silver fern image has become a key representative of New Zealand’s identify, and icons of it are used in logos and flags for sports, government, defence, firefighters, businesses and brands to distinguish and identify New Zealand in international contexts.
