Wool and the Gang | Dream Blanket Kit

This beginner-friendly project is a portable, easy-to-finish way to create your first ever knitted item.  Stitched up in three of your fave Shiny Happy Cotton shades, you’ll master the basic garter stitch in this project, and we are sure by the end you will have caught the knitting bug. At only 50cm x 60cm (19.7″ x 23.6″) it is a convenient lap throw or a snuggly blanket for a youngster. It also uses less yarn than a lot of blankets, making it more economical. This beginner’s kit is knitted with Wool and the Gang Shiny Happy Cotton. This cotton is smooth and lustrous, perfect for summer clothes or all-seasonal throws for your couch. This knitted blanket is worked in rows from the bottom to the top, turning your work at the end of each row, using garter stitch which is a bouncy squishy texture. Colours are changed at set intervals to create stripes.

If you want a bigger version, try the Sunshine Blanket and pick the same colour twice to get the repeating stripes.

To care for your finished blanket:
Hand wash only in cold water – do not exceed 30 degrees / Use a delicates hand wash detergent / Give your knits a gentle squeeze and leave in the water for a few minutes / Once done, roll in a clean towel to remove excess water and then dry flat.

• 1 pair of 5mm (US8) x 100 cm (40″) knitting needles

• scissors
• darning needle to weave in ends
