Description

Designed in honour of Earth Day 2024, Ulukayn (originally Ulukayın) in Turkish mythology is the tree of life at the very center of the earth. Yiğitcan of Pufido Knits was inspired to create a tree of life motif using the tree-inspired Spiral Grain and the plant-based-dyed Harvest. The result is a skinny scarf, on a 2-color striped garter base, constructed with slip stitches and Estonian Nupps to allow Ulukayn to take centre place. Our Ulukayn scarf kit allows you to recreate the tree of life for yourself, in any colours you choose!

We can suggest 12 beautiful color combinations, each representing a Turkish deity (see photos or suggested colour combination descriptions below), or you can build whatever combination you would like from the range! This will work best with contrasting colours.

What Comes With the Ulukayn Tree of Life Scarf Knitting Kit

  • 2 skeins of Spiral Grain Light worsted, in the colour of your choice – this makes the tree of life and one of your stripes
  • 1 skein of Harvest Fingering, which will make one of your stripes
  • 1 digital download PDF of the pattern – for a limited time this is FREE with your kit, saving you $11!
