Urth Yarns | Spiral Grain Light Worsted
NZ$33.04
This beautiful yarn has a gradual colour change effect with a lovely marled look, and in ultrafine merino it is soft to the touch and beatiful to work with. Elevate your colourwork with this delightful yarn.
Urth Yarns has delivered another stunning yarn with their new Spiral Grain collection, including Spiral Grain Light Worsted. The yarn honours Urth’s long time love affair with trees. They’ve named Spiral Grain for the way the three plies twist together, mirroring the spiral grain growth patterns found in trees. Each beautiful colour is named after a tree that inspired its colour.
Makers dye the yarn before plying it, giving a soft blending of colours or a slight barberpole effect. The yarn gradually shifts through a gradient of colours. The gradual colour changes make this yarn wonderful for a lot of patterns that feature colourwork or that are designed for slow colour shift yarns,. But you can use your creativity to combine this yarn with any design to see how the colour effect transforms it.
Made from 19 micron ultrafine superwash merino, this yarn is soft on your skin, smooth with very little halo, and easy to care for.
