NZ$7.83
This this easy to crochet, one-piece vest brings a touch of old-school-cool to your infant, with a shawl collar, and cute toggle details. The design was inspired by a type of a traditional Turkish waistcoat, a cepken (pronounced as Jepken), which isĀ is one of the traditional pieces of clothing in Turkey in which the shape and materials differ from region to region, or era to era, from a sleeveless short and tight fitting vest to a glamorously embroidered velvet or silk bolero.Ā
The Jepken Baby Vest is made with beginner friendly, easy stitches – double crochet combined with double crochet variations through front and back loops. This adorable little vest is worked all in one piece, with no sewing needed except for the buttons. Itās worked bottom up starting at the hem, then adding stitches to form the front, armholes and shawl collar.
