Description

The Dubblo hat pattern is a twist on a classic fitted beanie. It is reversible, and has a Latvian braid edge detail on the brim which elevates this simple shape to something just that bit more special and unique. Designed for two shades of Urth Yarns Spiral Grain Sport, each shade is a gradient to really create a beautiful look, and Spiral Grain is delightfully soft on your skin.

Dubblo is designed specifically for Urth Yarns by Yiğitcan from Pufido Knits (they/them), a clever designer who creates unusual and creative pieces.

What You Will Need to Make the Dubblo Hat Pattern

• Spiral Grain Sport, 1 (1, 2) skein(s) for each color, Shown in Katsura as C1, Sycamore as C2 in most photos. The last photo shows the sample we have at events, in Blue Spruce and Hickory (see Construction Notes)
• 3.0 mm / US 2.5  circular needles; or size needed to obtain gauge.

Who We Recommend the Dubblo Hat Pattern For

If you have made some beginner projects and are ready to take your skills to the next level, the Dubblo Hat is a perfect project. You will get to practice skills like stockinette stitch, circular cast on, increases and decreases, and Latvian braid. And if you have all those skills this will be a very relaxing knit!

Construction Notes

You will start Dubblo from the crown of the first layer with a circular cast on and continue to the body after increasing stitches. You will work the 2-color Latvian braid where the 2 layers intersect before starting the second layer in C2. The work continues with the body of the second layer and finishes with stitch decreases for the crown of the second layer, mirroring the first layer.
