Rauma Garn | 2-tråds Gammelserie
NZ$12.50 inc GST
2-tråds Gammelserie is made in Norway from 100% Norwegian wool, with extra twist (compared to its sister yarn Finull) to make the yarn even more durable. 2-tråds Gammelserie means “2-ply Vintage Series” and it is especially suitable for traditional Norwegian socks and mittens, and other vintage or modern garments that require more durability. The yarn qualities ensure that garments remain warm and breathable even when damp, which makes it excellent for garments used for hiking, skiing, and other outdoor activities, as well as for everyday use. The range of colours works well for Norwegian colourwork, or use it in contemporary colourwork designs. The extra twist makes a sharper edged colourwork, and allows for a dense fabric to be created without making it stiff.
About Rauma Garn
Rauma Garn is a Norwegian yarn brand with a long history and is still run by the same family today who started it. Their Norwegian wool made in Norway is spun at Rauma Ullvarefabrikk (or Rauma wool factory), which is tucked among high mountains and overlooks a beautiful fjord, where they have been spinning quality yarn for almost 100 years. They also work with manufacturers around the world to create yarns using other fibres to their specifications. Their century of knowledge is embedded in every yarn that they make or that bears their brand. Norwegian wool is known for its strength, lustre, wearability, durability, and warmth and Rauma believe that the sheep, the farmer and nature should be treated with respect.
