How Does a Wooden Ball Winder Work?

A ball winder works best with a swift. Once you have wound your hank of yarn on the swift, take one end and wrap it into the metal loop that holds the yarn, then place it on the ball winder. Then just turn the handle counterclockwise, and the yarn will wrap itself around the post into a ball. It’s like magic.
