Kylie and the Machine | Sew-in Labels – Going Places by KATM X Brook Gossen

Going Places is the very first edition of a KATM collection just for kids or the kid inside of all us! Kylie and the Machine teamed up with the fabulous Brisbane based digital artist, Brook Gossen. The collaboration has produced a heartwarming set of labels.

The details and colours in the labels are so intricate and joyful, reflecting their sentiment and intention. They made this a large pack so a label loving sewist could incorporate a couple of these labels into each of their makes.

Why We Love Going Places Labels

In developing this collection, KATM asked kids what they love hearing us say to them and the results are what you see on these labels! They then gave these heart felt phrases to Brook so she could create the vibrant designs that are sure to brighten each message for the wearer.

How to Use Going Places Labels

Centre fold labels are meant to be sewn in at a seam. Sew the raw edges into the seam so they can’t be seen. Some people stack these onto an end-fold label to make their labeling even more unique. Other people attach them at hems or cuffs because they want the label to be seen. If you’re attaching it at a hem or cuff, you can fold the raw edge under and then use a straight stitch across the top to secure it to your garment.

End fold labels are easy to use. You can top stitch each end or all around the label to affix it to your garment. You can go the traditional route by sewing it to the inside of a collar, scarf or blanket, or you can stitch it to a spot where it will be visible to anyone who looks.
