HiyaHiya | Kitty Snips

HiyaHiya’s original Kitty Snips are handy little tools. They’re lighter than scissors, and so will be easy on your hands if you need to cut thread or yarn. They’re also sharp and spring loaded to make snipping yarn easier. They measure only 48 mm long when closed and come with an attached key chain and cap to keep the snips safe. Never bite your yarn again to sever it. Perfect to tuck into your notions pouch!

If you’re new to knitting or crochet, snips are a little different to scissors or shears. Scissors and shears both have finger holes to make it easier to cut larger things. Because snips are meant to just snip a piece of thread or yarn, they have no finger holes. Instead, you squeeze them at the blades in order to snip the thread or yarn at hand.

We also offer HiyaHiya Sleepy Kitty snips, Puppy snips and Octopus snips!

Why We Love HiyaHiya Kitty Snips

Kitty snips are great because of the following features:

• Removable head protects and holds the stainless steel blades
• Keychain attached to keep your snips close to hand
• Measures only 5cm when closed making them perfect for travel – they can fly on most planes
• Because they have rounded tips and a cover, if they’re loose in your bag you won’t stab yourself
• The ball chain loop means you can clip it onto a zipper pull, a little loop or hang it off a necklace
• They are absolutely adorable!
• They come in loads of different colours!

About Hiyahiya

Shanghai knitter and pattern designer Qianer Huang founded HiyaHiya. She struggled to find the tools that met her exacting standards. With the help of her father and brother, both engineers, they were able to make the world’s first interchangeable straight needle. Since that first design, they have worked to create more tools that combine innovation with quality and comfort.
