DMC | Eco Vita Naturally Dyed Organic Wool Thread

This 100% organic  crewel wool thread is perfect for embellishing your knitted and crocheted garments with hand embroidery, or use it to mend holes in your cherished textiles. It is also perfect for embroidery on other items including cross stitch, weaving, and punch needle. Crewel wool thread cannot be divided and is used as a single thread, and is the ideal thickness to use, with 16 metres per skein being enough for most projects. Its evenness and gentle twist makes it easy to work with and its fluffy quality adds softness, texture and a three-dimensional quality to needlework, giving a lovely finished effect.

It is perfect to use with the DMC Weaving Loom for woven repairs and embellishments, or use with the Bohin Wooden Darning Egg if you prefer that style of darning your socks. Or pair with one of our books about embroidery on knitting or crochet to create beautiful, customised projects.

This 100% organic non–mulesed wool thread is Woolmark certified and has undergone rigorous testing for colourfastness including for light, washing, rubbing and sweating. Projects can be hand washed at 30 degrees, so it’s ideal for visible mending, darning, weaving or embellishing cherished textiles.

The thread has been dyed using infusions of completely natural ingredients such as walnut, rhubarb, indigo and juniper. The natural dyes give the thread a gently heathered appearance that adds a touch of authenticity and organic beauty to your makes. There are over 60 luminous shades to choose from, including soft neutrals to bold vibrant hues, and we will add more colours with time.
