Blacker Yarns | Tamar 4-Ply

NZ$63.00 inc GST

Tamar is named for the river that borders Cornwall, due to its beautiful sheen, shimmer, and drape. This semi-worsted yarn is spun from the fleeces of fine British rare breeds known for their lustre fleeces, including Teeswater, Wensleydale and Leicester Longwool. To give some body and bulk, we base the lustre fibres on a grounding of 30% Cornish Mule, which also has lustre as well as additional softness. The natural grey of the Leicester Longwool makes a subtle base shade in silvery mid grey, which is then dyed in a series of rich complementary colours that work with the underlying tones. Each colour is named after a Cornish river.

About Blacker Yarns

Established in 2008. Blacker Yarns is the in-house label of The Natural Fibre Company, a wool mill based in Cornwall, England that has in turn been running in various iterations since the 1980s.
