No matter how much they kick, it will keep them covered. We recommend Urth Lanalpaca for this project too.

Gen Nielsen has created what reviewers have termed a medium difficulty pattern, the Bulky Sampler Blanket. This a free pattern from Ravelry. The blanket is made of roughly 8 inch square blocks each featuring a different textural stitch, knitted all in one and with a moss stitch border. We recommend the bright colours of the Alpachino Merino for this pattern.

The big blanket – En stor och ljuvlig filt

Not sure if you want to commit to a whole blanket? We’ve found the perfect on again off again project from Viffla. The big blanket can be done square by square, touted as a beginner pattern that suits film or book knitting. Finding the English pattern does need some scrolling down to get to but we promise it’ll be worth it. If you are looking for the right yarn for the job, Zealana Tui would be ideal.

Grassy Fields

This five star pattern from Marji LaFreniere uses a bulky 12ply yarn. Grassy Fields promises to be a cozy throw with a mix of simple ribbing and two-stitch twist cables. ‘Engaging’ but not too difficult to knit. We recommend Zealand Tui wool for this too, a luxury blend of merino, cashmere and possum brings softness to the bulky yarn.

BLANKnit Throw

A cozy blanket and a fun illusion? The BLANKnit Throw has it all. From the front, contrasting stripes knit in a classic garter stitch but look from the top or bottom and a knit stitch graphic appears. Easy to follow, the hardest part will be choosing two contrasting colours from the Zealand Tui range (held double).
